Second Trimester Bump Date

Weeks 14-27

  • Total weight gain/loss: Probably about 15 pounds
  • Stretch marks? No stretch marks as of yet! I’ve been using Burt’s Bees Belly Butter religiously to prevent stretch marks as much as possible but I hear this is genetic.
  • Maternity clothes? Yes, my sister thankfully had a box of maternity clothes that she kept for me because maternity stores are EXPENSIVE.
  • Sleep: Tired all the time, still getting good rest when sleeping.
  • Best moment this trimester: Our 20 week ultrasound! It was so special to see our little baby and how active he/she was. We got a really sweet profile and pictures of his/her hands and feet. Made everything seem so much more real.

  • Movement: I felt the first flutter at 15 weeks, a week before my app told me feeling the baby move so early was even possible. I felt it again a couple weeks later. After 20 weeks, it was a pretty regular activity and I’ve loved every moment!
  • Food cravings: Didn’t have many cravings. A lot things didn’t sound good and when that happened, cereal was my go to. I also thought I loved milk pre-pregnancy, I can’t get enough now.
  • Anything making you queasy or sick: Same as before, all Mediterranean food and most meats.
  • Symptoms: Swollen hands & feet, experiencing acid reflux most everyday, congestion, leg cramps at night, snoring (my husband tells me).
  • Have you started to show yet: I started to show around week 14-15. Leggings that I had previously worn started to really hurt my growing belly, if I wore them. I remember laying in bed after work one day because my stomach really hurt and my sweet husband came home and offered to take me shopping for a couple of maternity items! We made a little date night out of it and it was really fun! Heart

  • Gender prediction: I have no feeling one way or another. Months before I got pregnant, I had a dream that Eddie and I had a little girl but I go back and forth between thinking of the baby as a boy or girl. Either way, we are so happy and so excited to be starting our family!
  • Gestational diabetes testing: I took my glucose test in my OB’s office September 2018 and my test results came back slightly elevated at 155. They like to see the results at 139 or lower. Because of this I had to take the 3 hour gestational diabetes test. I was very fearful that I would fail this second test too and did a lot of praying as my prepped for my second test. The results on that came back quickly and thankfully I was cleared!
  • Labor signs: No signs of labor yet!
  • Belly button in or out? In
  • Wedding rings on or off? Off, unfortunately. I wear 4 very special rings and it makes me sad that my hands are swollen and I cannot wear them.
  • Happy or moody most of the time: Happy, and tired. Working full-time and going to school full-time while being pregnant will do that to you. I won’t graduate college until I’m 36 weeks. Although, I will say that I am very matter of fact with people (more so than usual) and the patience that I had been practicing seems to be wearing thin these days haha
  • Milestones: Baby’s crib and rug have been set up in the nursery. Eddie is working on making me a couple of book shelves to hang on the wall and I’m getting even more excited about our little one!!
